Botanical name:  Acer saccharum 'Jefcan'

Origin:  A third generation seedling grown in southern Manitoba. Selected off the streets of Morden, MB. Original seed source from Detroit Lakes,  MN.

Hardiness:  Zone 3 (Canadian and USDA)

Growth Rate:  Slow to moderate. Mature height: 40-50 feet.

Description:  Canada's national tree. Slow growing with an upright crown. Resistant to frost cracking. Beautiful orange-yellow fall foliage.

Landscape Value:  Valued as a collector tree in the prairie landscape. Grows successfully with adequate snow cover and in a sheltered location.
