  • Botanical name: Tilia cordata 'Ronald'

  • Origin: Discovered by Dr. Wilbert Ronald in an open-pollinated seedling population from a Manchurian source.

  • Hardiness: Zone 3 (Canadian and USDA)

  • Growth Rate: Approximately 10-15% faster than Littleleaf Linden.

  • Description: A hardy hybrid of Littleleaf Linden selected for its rapid growth, and improved resistance to leaf spot, leaf gall and sunscald. Shiny, heart-shaped green leaves. Mature height is between 35-50 feet.

  • Landscape Value: Excellent shade tree in residential and downtown plantings, particularly where faster growth and a broad, pyramidal crown are required.
